It's time to build the church. Again, we see God use an unlikely person, who endures shipwreck and imprisonment to spread the Good News.

Had Jesus' life ended on a Roman cross, there would be no need to write down what they saw. But it wasn't the end, not even close!

The Old Testament, our beacon of hope pointing to our rescue, Jesus, wraps up this week. And, it wraps up in the most beautiful way.

What about the rest of the Old Testament? If we've already covered the history and the poetry, what's the rest of it?

After King David, it's his son's turn to reign. As we'll see, Solomon is a "like father, like son" story. So many parallels.

"Give us a king!" is the cry of the people. When the first king disobeys God, God raises up an unlikely shepherd to reign over His people.

In the time of Judges, we meet a woman named Ruth. Her story may be short but it is paramount. Oh, and Samuel. God uses him in great ways.

A new leader has been chosen. Joshua will lead the people into the Promised Land with the support of an unlikely woman.

This week, we see God sees both the big picture and the smallest of details. And His motivation for all of this? Love.

Protection, guidance, faithfulness - all followed by doubting God? It's a reeeeally good thing it's a covenant and not based on our goodness

From mistreatment to promotion, from reunions to genocide, from plagues to passover - it all foreshadows our Rescuer.
